Merle-Smith Campus Students Earn Fourth Place at the 2025 Fleming High School Ethics Bowl
On Tuesday, October 14, six Merle-Smith Campus students represented Moravian Academy at the 2025 Fleming High School Ethics Bowl Tournament, hosted by DeSales University.
In this competition, students were challenged to analyze an ethical business dilemma faced by a fictional client and to act as consultants recommending a thoughtful, well-reasoned course of action. The Ethics Bowl emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and respectful dialogue as students navigate complex moral questions.
In their first-ever appearance as a team, our students excelled, earning fourth place out of twelve competing schools. Their strong communication, problem-solving, and ethical reasoning skills impressed the judges and secured them a spot in the finals, placing them among the top four teams in the region.
Congratulations to Jaise Shah ’28, Shaan Ailawadi ’26, Ayush Jain ’28, Henry Brown ’29, Isabel Mylnarsky ’28, and Kathryn Carolan ’28 on this outstanding achievement!
The tournament, organized through DeSales University’s Forum for Ethics in the Workplace, provides a platform for high school students to engage in thoughtful discussion around real-world ethical challenges. Events like these encourage students to apply ethical reasoning to complex issues and develop essential skills in communication, collaboration, and leadership.
