DOWNTOWN
CAMPUS

Welcome to the Downtown Campus

Preschool to Grade 8

Located in the heart of historic Bethlehem, PA, our Downtown Campus serves students from three years old through Grade 8. We believe children learn best when they are in an environment in which they can explore, discover, and make connections in their world. At Moravian Academy, we create a just and equitable place for children to engage in learning—a place that creates strength from the diversity in the classroom and community and regards each child as an individual, able learner. Through our responsive teaching, we are able to present a personalized learning approach that addresses each child’s specific strengths and needs and helps them develop essential cognitive and social-emotional skills.

Spanish Immersion

Our Spanish Immersion Program(SIP) offers students the opportunity to experience Moravian’s excellent curriculum and atmosphere, all while developing a second language.

Suzuki Strings

Students have the opportunity to take additional music lessons through our progressive ‘Suzuki Strings’ program beginning in pre-kindergarten.

Independent Research

Students dive into deeper learning through research-based projects. In the Lower School, theme-based projects are chosen by the teacher while at the Middle School, students begin to have more choice on their topics.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE

Students participate in community service projects throughout the year that include visiting residents in nearby nursing homes, collecting food and making lunches for local soup kitchens, and volunteering at local Camel’s Hump Farm to assist with spring cleanup and summer preparations.
I am inspired by my students on a regular, if not daily, basis. In my class, we explore environmental and earth sciences. Student curiosity drives these explorations, with many classes taking unplanned twists and turns. I am amazed by the students, and this inspires me to design new learning opportunities for them.
