Moravian Academy Student Named Finalist in National NSHSS Be More Fund Competition
The NSHSS Be More Fund is a grant competition that empowers young leaders to sustain their innovative ideas and create real-world impact. This year, NSHSS received many exceptional submissions from across the nation, with only the top 10 projects selected as finalists. Finalists will present their initiatives in Atlanta, GA, on November 7–8 before a panel of five industry professionals, with five projects awarded $10,000 each and five receiving $1,000 awards. Past judges have included executives from Bank of America, U.S. News & World Report, Cox Communications, the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Since its launch, the Be More Fund has awarded over $500,000 to support innovative student-led projects that drive positive change in communities around the world.
We are proud to share that Aveer Chadha ’26 has been named a finalist for his business venture, Solvis. While Aveer will be presenting the project individually in Atlanta, the business was created alongside Nikhil Skandan ’26, and Qayn Jaffer ’26, who collaborated in bringing Solvis to life.
Solvis is an innovative startup that leverages cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to help construction companies better manage runoff and reduce their environmental footprint.
At the heart of the company’s work are two flagship products: the Solvis Pure and the Solvis Mobile App. The Solvis Pure is a camera device equipped with advanced object detection algorithms that track and measure runoff directly at construction sites. The data it collects is then delivered to the Solvis Mobile App, where companies can access powerful tools to monitor their impact and take proactive steps to stay in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
This two-step system does more than help companies avoid costly fines—it actively reduces environmental damage. With construction accounting for nearly 50% of climate change in the United States and 40% of water pollution, Solvis’ technology provides an urgently needed solution.
Solves aims toward ending the negative impact of construction on the climate, contributing to a significantly greener earth, and empowering construction companies to spend pennies and save thousands.
We congratulate Aveer, Nikhil, and Qayn on this outstanding achievement and applaud their dedication to innovation, sustainability, and positive change. Their work with reflects the creativity, integrity, and global citizenship we are proud to see in our students.
In addition to the main competition awards, there will also be a People’s Choice Award, with voting opening in October. We encourage our community to show support for Aveer by participating once voting becomes available.
