HDC Fourth Graders Explore the Circulatory System Through Hands-On Learning

Our 4th grade English students recently brought science to life with a hands-on project constructing their own models of blood vessels. Each student included the four main components of blood, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma, and wrote detailed explanations of how these parts work together to keep the body healthy and functioning properly.

Inspired by their class book, The Circulatory Story, the project offered a fun and informative foundation for learning. By combining research, writing, and model building, students strengthened both their understanding of the circulatory system and their critical thinking skills. This creative approach allowed them to connect science and language arts in a meaningful and memorable way.
