Moravian Academy Students Excel at Delaware Valley Science Fair

Moravian Academy Middle School students recently showcased their research and innovation at the Delaware Valley Science Fair, taking their STEM learning to the next level. After earning top honors at the Lehigh Valley Science Fair, seven students advanced to compete against nearly 1,000 students from across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Both fairs are affiliated with the International Science and Engineering Fair, making this advancement an impressive accomplishment.

Students representing Moravian Academy and their projects included:

- Serena Jaffer '31: The Psychology of Marketing: A Study on Expectation Bias and Green  Marketing Claims, Behavioral Science 
- Amaaya Chaudhry '31: Angles, Accuracy, and Aces: Using Math to Predict Tennis Serve Distance, Mathematics 
- Spencer Fleshman '31: Can AI Predict Wildfire Location and Intensity? Computer Science 
- Fox Slocum '30: How Does Running Economy Change Over Time? Medicine and Health
- Kaito Kiuchi '30: Which Seawall is Most Effective at Reducing Tsunami Impact? Engineering
- Preston Edwards '30: How Do AI Responses of Sentence Closures Differ From Those of Middle Schoolers? Computer Science
- Guytano Stevens '30: How Does Wing Shape Affect Lift? Physics

Amaaya Chaudhry was also invited to compete in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge later this year, an additional distinction that highlights the strength of her research.
