The Swain Campus celebrates the anniversary of founding D. Esther Swain’s school in 1929. Families are welcome into the school for special presentations in the McCann Center where students give musical performances, attendees learn the history of the Swain School, and a pinning ceremony is performed for the Kindergarten class. After, a tree planting ceremony is held outside to commemorate D. Esther Swain’s love of trees.

Parents and guardians will discuss a book at this monthly session that is read by one of the classes at Moravian Academy. This month's selection is "A Turn of the Screw" by Henry James (Gothic Fiction).

Trunk-or-Treat is a fun, safe and convenient way for children and families to celebrate Halloween and trick-or-treat in one location. Families sign-up to decorate tables and trunks in the theme of their choice so students may walk around and see the decorations and receive treats. All candy is donated two weeks prior to the celebration so treats containing allergens may be removed and all children may participate. A list of candies will be provided closer to this date. The festivities will take place at the McCann Center on the Swain Campus.
Merle-Smith Campus students and their families, as well as faculty and staff, are invited to decorate a trunk to be parked along the roadway at the Merle-Smith Campus where students dressed in costumes will walk around to the cars handing out treats. Treats are donated by Historic Downtown Campus families and the Family Association. A sign up to decorate a trunk and to donate candy will be offered in advance of the event.
Taking place in the Lower School Main Building Library, the Book Fair will be open from 7:45 to 8:20 AM and after school from 3:00 to 3:30 PM on Monday, 10/30, Tuesday, 10/31, and Wednesday, 11/1. On Thursday, the Book Fair will be open from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM during conferences.
All major credit cards, checks, and the Scholastic Online Ewallet system payments are accepted. Please check your child's book bag for more payment information.
Moravian Academy is holding an Information Session on the optional spring break trip to Peru. The trip is open to students in grades 7-12 from the Merle-Smith, Historic Downtown, and Swain Campuses. Additional details are on the blog here.

1:30 PM - Students in Grades PK - 3 will parade in costume around God's Acre. Students in Grades 4-8 will watch along the pathways. Parents and guests are welcome to attend. Students will go back to their classrooms for student-only Halloween parties until dismissal.
