We work hard. We play together. We take breaks together. We care for one another. Our Middle School is an exciting place to develop relationships, learn, grow, and experience the many great academic and co-curricular opportunities for students in grades six through eight. We are a diverse close-knit community of learners, leaders, and citizens of the world.
The middle school years mark the transition from the dependence of childhood to the independence of adolescence. Throughout their middle school years, our students grow in every way—emotionally, socially, cognitively, and physically. We strive to help our students evolve into confident, well-educated young people who are contributing members to our school community and the many communities beyond. Our students develop lifelong habits of moral and academic behavior and are well prepared for the future.
Moravian Academy is:
- Safe: As stated in our mission statement, we believe in an “atmosphere of love and understanding.” Students, faculty and staff are expected to be respectful of differing cultures, people and beliefs. We value our differences. We respect our sameness.
- Rigorous and Stimulating: Our curriculum prepares adolescents for their upper school experience and for life beyond our campus. Our students are appropriately challenged and will leave the Middle School having developed many skills and having explored academics, the arts, athletics, and community service initiatives throughout the school year.
- Caring: Our faculty and students get to know one another through an advisory program and by sharing experiences together throughout the school year, including performing community services throughout the school year.
- Church-Related: Our students and faculty attend a weekly chapel service that is non-denominational in nature.
