Geocaching
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to use GPS technology and latitude/longitude coordinates to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors. Participants will learn how to use Garmin eTrex H GPS devices to find and hide our own “treasures” in and around the Lower School campus. Additionally, students will become familiar with our Earth’s coordinate system, Google Earth (website), and the geocaching.com website. Geocaching is exciting and addicting. It’s a great way to get outdoors and explore!

Melty Beads
In Melty Beads, students use their fine motor skills and imagination to make one-of-a-kind creations. Mrs. Stitt teaches them the technique of putting small plastic beads on a tray and then she uses an iron to melt the beads together. Most students take home at least one unique creation each class, while others choose to take on bigger projects that span multiple sessions. Either way, students are sure to use their time for meaningful creative expression!
