Our annual Art Show is more than an exhibition—it's a celebration of student voice, creativity, and the transformative power of making, performing, exhibiting, and visual storytelling. Throughout Walter Hall, visitors encountered art at every turn: in the gym, hallways, lounges, and even on the TVs. Dinner was served in the cafeteria before guests enjoyed the GUA Fashion Show. Attendees signed up to take on the puzzling game challenge—an interactive Escape Room designed by Ninth Grade Introduction to Media students.
This year’s showcase highlighted the depth and diversity of our visual arts program, featuring work across Ceramics, Woodworking, Drawing and Painting, and Photography. In the Junior/Senior Lounge, AP Photography students presented their portfolios alongside selected pieces from their personal collections, reflecting both technical mastery and personal vision. Filmmaking students debuted STEPS, an experimental video installation inspired by influential directors such as Sofia Coppola, Maya Deren, Martin Scorsese, and Jean-Luc Godard.
Visitors enjoyed a raffle of handmade ceramic mugs with planted succulents, admired a striking display of handcrafted guitars, and explored an array of expertly crafted functional ceramic and wood creations—boxes, cutting boards, planters, lamps, cookie jars, and vessels. Live performances by Coda Red and an impromptu instrumental jam session added music and energy to the event.
The multitude of elements showcased not only students' technical growth and creative risk-taking, but also the vibrant, collaborative spirit of our artistic community. After months of preparation leading up to our Art Opening on Tuesday, the event came alive with immersive experiences and artistic expression—and was enjoyed by all.
Following the Art Show, the community gathered for the Annual Spring Ring Sing Thing, Music Down in Our Souls, featuring performances by Camerata, Merle-Smith Ringers, Coda Red, Moravian Academy Ringers, and the Moravian Academy Vocal Arts Chorale. The concert opened with a dynamic contemporary handbells performance by PopRock. The Moravian Academy Vocals Arts Chorale included a string accompaniment by students Elena Koprowski '26 (violin), Elias Chen '28 (violin), and Laura Li '26 (cello), along with Mr. Franklin Niño (cello) and Patrick Kerssen (piano).
