Historic Downtown Campus 7th Grade Life Science Students Explore Anatomy Through Zoology Dissections
At the Historic Downtown Campus, 7th Grade Life Science students took their learning into the lab as they engaged in a series of zoology dissections focused on animal structure and function. Working with lab partners, students examined a grasshopper, earthworm, crayfish, and frog to better understand anatomy, body systems, and how complexity increases across different organisms in the animal kingdom.
Through these hands-on investigations, students made meaningful connections between form and function while strengthening essential laboratory skills, including scientific observation, teamwork, communication, problem solving, and proper tool use. The experience provided an engaging opportunity for students to apply classroom learning in a real-world scientific setting.
