Merle-Smith Campus DECA Students Make Their Mark at District Competition
Moravian Academy’s DECA chapter proudly represented the school at this year’s District Competition. Ten of our students competed across a wide range of events, showcasing their skills in categories spanning from Sports and Entertainment Marketing to Principles of Hospitality and Tourism.
DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. The District Competition provides an opportunity for first-year competitors to shine in the Principles events and challenges teams of two to tackle real-world workplace scenarios, presenting solutions through role-play in front of judges. Students and teams are scored on a detailed rubric, with the top 8 in each category advancing to the State Competition.
Our Moravian team did exceptionally well, with nine of our students placing in a multitude of categories.
