HDC Students Partner with Central Moravian Church Food Pantry
HDC Lower School students have begun a yearlong service project to support the Central Moravian Church Food Pantry. Each month, students in grades 1–5 bring donations to Chapel, where the fourth grade takes the lead in delivering the collected items to the pantry afterward.
On Wednesday, students welcomed a special guest to Chapel: Connie Pierce from the Central Moravian Church Food Pantry. She spoke with students about who the pantry serves, what hunger looks like in our community, and how young people can help make a difference.
This project, organized by the fourth grade, is an opportunity for the entire HDC Lower School community to take part in meaningful service while learning more about food insecurity in our area.
The first food drive of the year will be held on October 8. Families will receive information about what items to bring to support the effort. Together, our students are learning that small, consistent acts of service can make a lasting impact.
