Amaaya Chaudhry '31 Named Top 300 Junior Innovator in National STEM Competition

Moravian Academy is proud to announce that seventh grader Amaaya Chaudhry ('31 HDC) has been named a Top 300 Junior Innovator in the 2026 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, one of the nation's premier middle school STEM competitions.

Amaaya earned top honors in the math category for her project, Angles, Accuracy and Aces: Using Math to Predict Tennis Serve Accuracy, which explores how mathematical principles can be applied to improve athletic performance. Her recognition places her among an elite group of just 300 students selected from a national pool of nearly 2,000 applicants.

Amaaya's path to this national honor was paved by a string of strong performances earlier this year. At the Lehigh Valley Science Fair in March 2026, she took first place in the 7th Grade Math category. The following month, she earned second place in 7th Grade Math at the Delaware Valley Science Fair, where she was also named a National Competition Nominee.

Her project reflects the kind of curiosity-driven, real-world problem-solving that Moravian Academy's Middle School math program is designed to foster. Through collaborative problem-solving and hands-on projects, students are encouraged to see math not as an abstract subject but as a tool for understanding the world around them — a lesson Amaaya brought vividly to life on the tennis court.

Moravian Academy congratulates Amaaya on this remarkable accomplishment and looks forward to celebrating her continued success.
