Merle-Smith Campus Special Awards, Cum Laude Induction, and Senior Awards Ceremony 2026

At Moravian Academy, we take great pride in recognizing the dedication, talent, and character of our students. Through two annual ceremonies held on the Merle-Smith Campus, the community came together to celebrate students whose achievements reflect a commitment to scholarship, leadership, service, and personal growth.

 

The Special Awards and Cum Laude Society Induction Ceremony honored students in grades 9–12 for accomplishments both within and beyond the classroom. Students received recognition from organizations such as the National French Contest, Rotary International, and the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership organization, as well as awards presented by Upper School departments for excellence in specific areas of study. The ceremony concluded with All-Campus awards recognizing outstanding scholarship and leadership.

 

A highlight of the ceremony was the induction of new members into the Cum Laude Society, a prestigious academic honor society founded in 1906 to recognize scholastic achievement in secondary schools. Modeled after Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude Society membership reflects a student's commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning.

 

The Senior Awards Ceremony celebrated the graduating Class of 2026 and recognized achievements across academics, the arts, athletics, leadership, and service. In addition to departmental awards for excellence in a wide range of disciplines, students were honored for exceptional athletic performance, contributions to the school and broader community, and leadership both in and beyond the classroom. 

 

Together, these ceremonies highlight the many ways Moravian Academy students distinguish themselves through hard work, curiosity, service, and leadership. The following is a list of the awards presented and the students recognized for their outstanding accomplishments.
