Middle School Boys Lacrosse Team Continues Strong Spring Season

The Moravian Academy Middle School boys lacrosse team is enjoying an outstanding spring season, currently holding an 8–1 record with two games remaining. The team is looking forward to closing out the year by hosting the league’s end-of-season play day, where the final two games will be played. With a roster of 34 student-athletes from grades 6 through 8, including five players from the Swain Campus, the program continues to grow across divisions while building a strong culture rooted in hard work, teamwork, and competition.

Leadership has been a defining strength this season, with captains Joaquin Perry-Ortiz, River Nembhard, and Baylor Carolyn helping set the tone each day at practice and in competition. Standout performances have come across the field, including strong play from goalie Kai Kiuchi, consistent offensive production from Stellan Ochotorena and Beckett Schlack, and a balanced midfield effort from Theo Collins, Ethan Kyle Esembeson, Strati Yialamas, Jordan Freeman, and Nate Krakowski. On defense, a group of first-year starters has developed into one of the strongest units in the league, with players such as Cameron Hodavance and Jagger Palfi making a significant impact.

Beyond the record, the team’s growth has been especially notable, with more than half of the roster in their first year of lacrosse and many others in only their second season. Through dedication, coachability, and consistent effort, the players have made significant strides while laying a strong foundation for the future of the program. Coaches have emphasized pride in the group’s effort, resilience, and commitment to supporting one another, values that continue to define the identity of Moravian Academy boys lacrosse.
