During the sophomore year, students complete a course on healthy living and wise decision-making. They meet regularly with their advisors when they discuss a range of topics, including academic performance, commitment to school and community activities, and personal growth.
Things To Do:
  • Continue to balance academics and extracurricular activities, while beginning to focus on particular passions. Click here to view the Clubs & Activities page.
  • Meet with Mrs. Weems, Academic Dean, to discuss academic course selection including strengths, goals, and commitment to school and community.
  • Talk with a faculty advisor and family about your academic record, course selection, extracurricular activities, summer plans, goals, and relate these conversations to preliminary thoughts about college.

Test Calendar - Tenth Grade
PSAT (Unofficial Administration) – all sophomores are registered by the school; these scores do not become part of the student’s record. Scores will be reviewed with the student when results are obtained.

Those sophomores who are enrolled in Chemistry Honors have the opportunity to take the Subject Test in Chemistry. Only students who intend to major in science at college and earn a grade of 'A-' or higher in Honors Chemistry should register for the test. Registration is through The College Board; the Moravian Academy school code is 390-335.

Because standardized tests play a significant role in the admissions process at a vast majority of colleges and universities, we strongly urge that students consider some form of test preparation over the summer.
