The Music All Around Us

Each student studies music three days a week during one trimester of the year. Students engage in listening activities, sing songs, perform self-composed lyrics and rhythms, learn about the lives of composers with historical perspective, engage in discussion, and have various movement and dance experiences. Music Ace Maestro software enables the study of music theory through lab work and includes all basic concepts and rudiments. The Social Studies and music curriculum dovetail to provide an interdisciplinary experience covering Ancient Civilizations, American History, and World Cultures.

Middle School students have many opportunities to be part of a performing ensemble, all of which rehearse during the school day.
