COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
Church Youth Group – For four years performed community service through my church; worked in a soup kitchen, tutored young children and visited elderly people in hospitals during the school year; in summers worked for Habitat for Humanity in Mexico
St. John’s Hospital – Earned an award in recognition of 200 hours of volunteer service over the past two years; currently work as fundraiser on behalf of cancer victims; helped raise $5,000.

EMPLOYMENT/SUMMER ACTIVITIES
2015 – Worked 40 hours per week as a waitress at a local restaurant during June and July; in August participated in an Outward Bound program in Maine for three weeks
2014 – Spent one month in Firenze, Italy as a Rotary International Exchange Student and then hosted an Italian student for one month in my home; worked as cashier at Wegmans grocery store
2013 – Camp counselor at Spruce Lake, a camp for handicapped children, for three weeks; volunteered as a tour guide for the historic Moravian Museum for one month

PERSONAL INTERESTS
Reading; favorite authors include Neil Gaiman, John Green, and Erik Larson
Completed several art classes in jewelry making; design jewelry and sell it locally
Extensive travel through large parts of the United States and in Europe (England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France); visited with relatives in India during the last two summers
