Athletics

Team Players. Natural Leaders. Athletics for All.

For the Lions, competition is as fierce as it is friendly.
The athletics and physical education programs are an integral part of the Moravian Academy experience. We expect students to be knowledgeable about and committed to maintaining a sound, healthy body, and to develop physical skills that will permit them to enjoy competitive sports. The program provides the opportunity to improve skills, build confidence, learn teamwork, practice good sportsmanship and enjoy healthy competition.

BE A SCHOLAR AND AN ATHLETE

Moravian Academy is a member of the Colonial League, District XI, and the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). Our 40,000 square foot Athletic and Wellness Center includes indoor courts, a wellness center with strength and cardiovascular training equipment, as well as athletic training facilities staffed by St. Lukes Health Network.
Our no-cut policy encourages students to try a variety of sports and most years, 80% of the student body joins at least one athletic team.

No matter the sport, a commitment to teamwork, ethical sportsmanship, and sound conditioning methods are instilled in every player.

SPORTS MEDICINE

Moravian Academy has partnered with St. Luke’s Hospital to provide two professional, certified athletic trainers who are available during contests and practices to attend to the physical condition of athletes. The athletic trainers are responsible for all preventative measures such as taping or wrapping athletes. When an injury occurs, the athletic trainers make a diagnosis on the field and determines whether an athlete can continue play or should be seeking further evaluation for the injury. When an athlete is injured, the trainers will provide a rehabilitation program and determine when the athlete may return to practice or gameplay.
