Founded in 1742, Moravian Academy is a Preschool through Grade 12 coeducational college preparatory school comprising over 900 students and 200 faculty and staff on three distinct campuses across the Lehigh Valley, each tailored to a distinct student experience and culture:

  • The Historic Downtown Campus (preschool-grade 8), situated alongside the national historic landmark in the heart of the City of Bethlehem.
  • The Swain Campus (preschool-grade 8), a 22-acre contemporary campus in the beautiful west end of Allentown.
  • The Merle-Smith Campus (grades 9-12) situated on 120 acres of bucolic green expanse in Bethlehem township.

  • Administrative Assistant

    Moravian Academy is seeking a dedicated, friendly, and outgoing administrative assistant to support the Beginning and Lower School office. This person will take primary responsibility for managing office needs, working closely with the Director and Assistant Directors of the Historic Downtown Campus, faculty, staff, students, and parents. The successful candidate primarily supports preschool-grade 5, however, will assume additional responsibilities as needed for the entire Historic Downtown Campus.

    This is a twelve-month position with hours from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

    The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Director of the Historic Downtown Campus.

  • Assistant Campus Director, Swain Campus

    Moravian Academy is seeking an Assistant Director to help lead the Swain Campus of 240 students in Grades PS-8. This position begins July 1, 2024.

    The Assistant Director is a full-time administrator at the Moravian Academy Swain Campus, for grades Preschool through 8. The Assistant Director carries a principal or collaborative responsibility for the following roles: building leader, community steward, communication specialist, problem-solver, and supportive leader for faculty and students. The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director of the Swain Campus, serves as second in the chain of command for safety and security, and is a member of the campus leadership team. This is a 12-month position.

    The Controller is a part of the Business Office team who reports to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, and is responsible for assisting with the oversight, organization, and implementation of all general ledger functions and maintaining proper internal control procedures. The Controller also oversees the functions of accounting in a supervisory role.

    The Director of Technology reports to the Head of School and serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The Director of Technology is responsible for providing the vision, leadership and management of all academic and information technology systems and services to advance the mission of the school. In coordination with the senior leadership team, this new role sets the strategic direction and is personally involved with the practical implementation of that direction in the academic program and operations of the school.

  • Middle School Science Teacher

    The Swain Campus of Moravian Academy, serving children in Preschool through Grade 8 located in the Lehigh Valley seeks a full-time teacher for our middle school science classes for the 2024-2025 school year. This position would be responsible for the teaching and planning of four sections of science classes; a candidate experienced in teaching Chemistry and Physics is highly desired. They will also serve in a collaborative role as an elective instructor and a middle school advisor. The school seeks innovative candidates who are technology savvy, have a firm grasp of teaching pedagogy, and embrace the unique developmental stages of intermediate and middle school-age students.

    Moravian Academy is seeking an Upper School Counselor for the Merle Smith Campus for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. This is a short term assignment that will end effective May 31, 2024.

    Moravian Academy seeks a motivated, dynamic, and innovative full-time humanities teacher for the 2024-25 school year at the upper school on the Merle-Smith Campus.

    Essential Functions:
    • Design and deliver at least four courses within the History & Social Science and English departments. Courses would potentially include World History I, World History II, and/or English 9.
    • Support and further enhance the department’s high expectations for academic performance, intellectual inquiry, and personal growth for all students in each course;
    • Facilitate hands-on exploration, student collaboration, and problem solving; integrate student-centered pedagogical practices into the curriculum;
    • Create meaningful partnerships with parents and families, including regular communications through school-supplied online tools, emails, and phone calls.

    Essential Functions:
    • Design and deliver at least four courses within the curricular sequence of Algebra 1 through Linear Algebra, with the ability in particular to teach precalculus and calculus. Experience teaching AP Calculus preferred.
    • Support and further enhance the department’s high expectations for academic performance, intellectual inquiry, and personal growth for all students in each course;
    • Facilitate hands on exploration, student collaboration, and problem solving; integrate student-centered pedagogical practices into the curriculum;
    • Create meaningful partnerships with parents and families, including regular communications through school-supplied online tools, emails, and phone calls.

Moravian Academy and its three beautiful campuses are located in the Lehigh Valley and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Lehigh Valley, surrounds the Lehigh River in eastern Pennsylvania and consists of the cities Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. An area of historic significance and innovation, Historic Moravian Bethlehem has been nominated to the UNESCO World Heritage List while the area is also home to seven institutions of higher education -- Lehigh University, Lafayette College, Moravian College, Muhlenburg College, DeSales College, Cedarcrest College, and Northampton Community College.
