Moravian Academy’s Debate Team to Host the First League Meet of the Season
    

On Saturday, November 3rd, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, Moravian Academy’s Upper School will be hosting the first meet of our debate season.  Eight to ten of our students will join students from nine other schools to compete in events which will include original oratory, dramatic performance, extemporaneous speaking, oral interpretation, public forum debate, student congress and Lincoln-Douglas debate. 

The two debate resolutions for this meet are "In the United States, plea bargaining in exchange for testimony is unjust." and "Eliminating United States government budget deficits should be prioritized over increasing domestic spending.” 

The students will be divided up into small groups in several Walter Hall classrooms to debate the above topics.  Parents and friends are welcome to watch students compete in each of the events.
