"Buy low, sell high." The stock market
was the math lesson of the day for fifth graders when two Lehigh
University professors visited their classes. Mr. David Meyers
and Dr. Greg Ferguson, both parents of current M.A. students,
talked about Financial Disclosure, Basis Points ("Bips"
for short), and the ways investors choose their stocks. So what
is the best way to learn about the stock market? By playing it,
of course! Dr. Ferguson has generously donated funds for the
students to invest in the stocks of their choosing. Mr. Meyers
will help the students track their picks on the stock exchange.
Profits from this lesson will go towards a fifth grade
celebration and the Annual Fund. Thanks to Mr. Meyers and Dr.
Ferguson for their time and generosity!
