Moravian Academy offers an Early Childhood program of prekindergarten and kindergarten classes where we provide a nurturing environment for our youngest children. In prekindergarten — where the student-teacher ratio is approximately 9 to 1— daily half-day sessions lead four-year-olds through their first educational steps in an atmosphere of love, challenge and understanding. We believe in an unhurried childhood, where learning is essential, with adequate time to acquire values, skills and positive attitudes toward oneself. Thematic units introduce appropriate listening, sharing, learning and playing skills.

In full-day kindergarten classes — with the same approximate 9 to 1 student teacher ratio — learning and fun are interwoven through individual and group thematic activities that encourage students to speak, listen, share, observe and gain a strong academic foundation while they acquire social skills for the lower school years. Students are introduced to mathematics through manipulatives and language arts through the Imagination Station.
